EBONE "VANITYZO"

Eboné "VanityZo" Johnson is a professional dancer, teacher & choreographer based in NYC fluent in Hip Hop, Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Modern & Musical Theatre. Recently Eboné has taught at the Manhattan School of Music in the Musical Theatre Department, danced for Lizzo at the 2019 VMAs & choreographed for New Jack Swing originator Teddy Riley @ Essence Fest 2019 ft Pharrell, Timbaland, Ginuwine, Blackstreet, Doug E Fresh, SWV, Teyana Taylor & more. In 2018 she started her own kids & teens hip hop dance company called Funk Revolution, dedicated to preserving foundational hip hop styles, technique & culture by passing them down to the next generation of youth dancers.

 

Ebz has been dancing since the age of 2 & has trained at the Alvin Ailey School, Debbie Allen's Dance Academy, Broadway Theatre Project, The Sarasota Ballet, Judith Lee Johnson Dance Studio & Soulful Arts Dance Academy. She started working professionally at 13 years old choreographing a commercial for Nickelodeon's "The Big Help" in 1999 & danced behind Chaka Khan in 2001 (under the Direction of Debbie Allen & Dave Scott). She was a lead actress in the Hollywood film Step Up 2 in the 410 crew (chor by Dave Scott, Hi Hat, Jamal Sims & Rhapsody James) and over the years has danced behind & in music videos with such artists as The Roots, Ryan Leslie, Pusha T, DMX, Rick Ross, Chaka Khan, Eminem, Ludacris, Warren G, Trey Songz, Kiesza, Diplo & Skrillex, Ciara, Method Man, Red Man, Mary J Blige & more. Ebz has toured internationally as a teacher & choreographer in Tokyo, Hiroshima, Osaka & recently Moscow, Russia for the TV show Dance TNT (Russia's SYTYCD).
